Have you ever been cut from a team that meant a lot to you?

That’s what happened to Lina Taylor, but she showed up the next day anyway. That perseverance would later serve her well as she transitioned from being a volleyball player in communist-controlled Bulgaria to competing in the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball.

Taylor realized that, “Not only are opportunities not going to be given to me, but sometimes they could be taken away.”
